Spanish club Real Madrid intends to hold an exceptional reception ceremony for France captain Kylian Mbappe when he joins the team after the end of the European Nations Cup (Euro 2024) in Germany.
According to what the Spanish newspaper "AS" reported on Thursday, the reception ceremony will include a fireworks display, a concert, and a platform similar to the one used at Taylor Swift's concert.
The Spanish newspaper explained that the reception ceremony will be held at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on the 16th of this month, two days after the end of Euro 2024, where France will meet Portugal tomorrow, Friday, in the quarter-finals.
The Madrid newspaper quoted “Royal” officials as saying that “it will be the most exciting offer ever for a football player.”
The report indicated that 80,000 fans are expected to attend the reception ceremony while wearing the number 9 shirt that Mbappe is scheduled to wear in his first season in the Spanish League, as his number 10 shirt - which he used to wear with the French national team and his former club Paris Saint-Germain - is designated. Currently for veteran Croatian star Luka Modric.
Spanish media reports stated that Mbappe’s contract with “Merengue” extends for 5 years. According to the contract, Mbappe's salary will be the highest at Real Madrid, but he is not far from first-class players such as Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham, Luka Modric and David Alaba, as they earn between 15 and 20 million euros annually.
