Airlines in Morocco Unaffected by Global IT Outage

Several airlines operating in Morocco have managed to avoid disruptions caused by a global IT outage stemming from a defect in Microsoft systems.

This technical failure, which occurred today, Friday, has paralyzed computer systems worldwide. However, the National Airports Office in Morocco has stated that it “expects an escalating impact on much of the movement at the country’s airports.”

Sources at the National Airports Office told Hespress in English that “Royal Air Maroc and Low Cost Air Arabia do not use Microsoft in their operations; hence, they were not affected by this issue.”

The same source confirmed that “this is the current knowledge,” adding: “Expectations are that the situation will evolve throughout the rest of the day, Friday.” The source also noted the dissatisfaction of several international airlines operating in Morocco, including “Ryan Air,” which acknowledged being affected by the outage.
