The representative of the Ministry of Justice in Markazi province in central Iran, Abdul-Mahdi al-Moussawi, announced that the Iranian intelligence forces dismantled a cell that was planning to carry out sabotage operations inside the province.
Mousawi added that this group was linked to parties hostile to the Iranian regime outside the country.
He pointed out that so far 5 people from the main elements of this cell have been arrested after complex and integrated intelligence work, stressing that the security authorities are pursuing two members of this cell to arrest them.
It is noteworthy that Iran arrested last December citizens with British citizenship, and accused Western countries of involvement in the recent riots, and last November it arrested a number of what it said were agents of French intelligence, also in connection with the protests in the country.
The announcement of the dismantling of the cell comes a day after an Iranian official told Al-Jazeera that the attack on a military facility in the Isfahan region in the center of the country last Saturday evening with drones was launched from inside Iran, as he said that preliminary investigations indicated that Israel was involved in the attack.
While Israeli and American newspapers, quoting their own sources, said that the attack was a great success, Iran underestimated the impact of the attacks, claiming that they caused only minor damage, and there is no impartial way to accurately assess the results of this attack based on open sources.
